Chapter 9

Abstract- Henry finally walks ahead of the tattered man, but truely thinks aobut what he said feels very guilty. He then finds his old friend Jim the tall soldier covered with blood on his hands and wounded. Jim tells Henry that he thinks hes been a good friend and asks Henry to move him out of the way of the artillary carts passing because he doesn't wanna get run over. He helps him up and starts to walk then he tells him not to touch him and Henry looks away a second and Jim takes off runnin with a terible injury until he gets to a bush where he dies while Henry watchs.
Response- I think this is the first time Henry reall realizes the mortality and how life can go away just like that in war even to a good friend. Henry really doesn't know how to handle the situation and gets angry.
Question- Why doesn't Jim want Henry to help him?
