Abstract- In this chapter Henry remembers about the yellow letter that Wilson gave him and thinks about giving it back. He then convinces himself not to just in case he gets caught then he'll have that on him. Wilson the asks for his letter back embarrassed about giving it to him in the first place and Henry feels that he is better than him. He then thinks he is better than the other running soldiers because he had a good reason and the others were just wild. He then feels bad and thinks about the stories he would tell his mom and a girl back home and how they're not heroic at all.
Response- I think Wilson feels embarressed because he is much more mature and really has changed for the better through the war when asking for his letter back. Henry really should feel bad and I think he'll eventually try and make things right.
Question- Why does Wilson ask for the letter and does it mean he is trying to become that bigger man?
